Structured Family Caregiving (SFC)

STRUCTURED FAMILY CAREGIVER PROGRAM OF GEORGIA

Caring for a family member you live with can be both rewarding and challenging. Did you know that you may be eligible for payment for the care you provide? Through the Structured Family Caregiving (SFC) program in Georgia, families who care for a senior or disabled loved one at home can access financial assistance and support services. Family Care meets all SFC program requirements and is here to support qualifying families.
 

 WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR STRUCTURED FAMILY CAREGIVING? 

You may qualify for the SFC program and receive financial compensation if:

  • You are at least 18 years of age and live with the individual as their primary caregiver.

  • You are related to them by birth (e.g., daughter, grandson) or by marriage (e.g., daughter-in-law, son-in-law).

  • The person you care for is eligible for Georgia Medicaid and participates in the CCSP or SOURCE waiver program.
     

Please note that spouses of waiver participants and legal guardians are not eligible for compensation.
 

 BENEFITS OF BEING A FAMILY CAREGIVER WITH SFC 

  • Compensation: Receive weekly payments for your caregiving efforts.

  • Guidance: Access health coaching and guidance from our ZCH SFC staff to enhance the quality of care.

 SERVICES THAT CAN BE PROVIDED BY A FAMILY CAREGIVER 

As a family caregiver, you may assist with tasks such as:

  • Housekeeping

  • Bathing

  • Meal preparation

  • Eating

  • Dressing

  • Personal hygiene

  • Managing appointments and medications

  • Other tasks that improve quality of life and safety for daily living
